Psychiatry that sees you as a person —not a problem to solve

Mental health is more than chemistry. It's meaning. It's relationships. It's purpose. It's perspective. Medication can help- but it cannot replace understanding.

Therapy & Medicine

Medication without understanding can miss the mark. We take time to know your history, your goals, and what makes you unique — so your treatment actually fits you.

Type of Confidential

Your privacy matters deeply to us. Sessions are kept private and are not shared with insurance companies or third parties, allowing you to focus fully on your progress.

Humanistic Psychiatry

Our psychiatrists embrace humanistic therapy and positive psychology. We do not focus on medications. We focus on people.

What is Humanistic Psychiatry?

Humanistic psychiatry starts with understanding, not labels. If you’re experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, or feeling disconnected, we look beyond symptoms to understand your patterns, history, and what’s shaping your life today.

We view symptoms as signals, not flaws. When helpful, medication can support progress, but our true aim is enduring change — helping you resolve the underlying wounds and beliefs so growth is sustainable.

By combining medical expertise with real conversation and practical tools, we help you move forward in a way that feels clear, personal, and achievable — because you’re not a diagnosis, you’re a person.

What Makes Us Different

01

Your Symptoms Are Not the Problem — They Are Information

Most people are taught that anxiety, depression, irritability, or burnout are malfunctions that need to be fixed. They're actually signals telling you something important.

Anxiety often means your nervous system is stuck in overdrive. Depression can mean you're running on empty, or living out of alignment with what matters to you. Irritability usually means you've been ignoring stress or sacrificing your boundaries. When we only try to turn off the alarm, we miss the message.

We help you understand what's actually happening — then address the source, not just the noise.

02

Relief Without Understanding Is Temporary

You can feel better without fixing what made you feel bad in the first place.

That's why so many people get stuck in cycles: improve, crash, repeat.

We work on the foundation: how you process stress, how you manage your emotions when they spike, what you do when you're overwhelmed, and how your daily patterns either support or drain you.

When you understand how the system works, you can actually change it.

Our goal isn't just relief — it's building a version of you that doesn't break as easily.

03

Medication Is a Tool — Not an Identity.

04

Your Mind Follows Patterns — And Patterns Can Be Changed

Most people don't realize their thinking is making things worse. Catastrophizing turns manageable stress into panic. Avoiding difficult conversations makes anxiety stronger. Perfectionism keeps you exhausted. Suppressing anger turns into depression or burnout.

These aren't character flaws. They're habits your brain learned — and habits can be unlearned. We'll help you spot these patterns in real time and replace them with ones that actually work.

The goal is simple: stop reacting on autopilot. Start directing your own responses.

05

Mental Health Is Not Just About Feeling Better — It's About Functioning Better

Feeling better is important. But if your life doesn't actually improve, what's the point? Real progress looks like: making clearer decisions, setting boundaries that stick, having more stable relationships, staying calm under pressure, and actually following through on what you say you'll do.

When your internal system gets stronger, your external life reflects it.

That's what we're building toward.

06

Diagnoses Describe — They Don't Define

Diagnoses are useful. They give us a shared language and guide treatment.

But you are not your diagnosis.

We're interested in where you're going — your strengths, your blind spots, what you're capable of, and who you're becoming.

Treatment should expand your capacity, not limit your identity. Mental health care should help you grow, not just survive.

Absolutely amazing. Finding a doctor who will listen has been very hard. Not only did he listen, he gave me different options for treatment. I have not found many doctors that made me feel so comfortable during my first appointment. I actually felt like Dr. Sy wanted to help me instead of throwing more medications at me. I would recommend Dr. Sy to friends and family.

Dr. Sy is very kind and always concerned about how I am feeling and what we can do to improve things. He always provides extra information about my medications and gives alternatives. He's like half psychiatrist and half therapist!

He really seemed to listen and actually made me feel better about what I’m going through. I felt less like I was talked at and more like I was informed, which I’ve never had in a therapy session before. It was very refreshing.

How Much Does This Cost? Is It Covered by Insurance?

Great question.

We're a self-pay practice, which means we don't work with insurance companies. This gives us the freedom to actually spend real time with you instead of being limited to what insurance allows (which is usually 15–20 minutes).

Sessions are [your price].

We know that's an investment, but for a lot of people, finally getting care that actually helps is worth more than saving a copay on appointments that don't go anywhere.

We can provide you with documentation for potential out-of-network reimbursement if your insurance offers that.
